Review: Lakme 9 to 5 Pure Rouge Blusher (Peach Affair)

This is the one that I mentioned in my Current favorites post. I bought this a few days back with a few other things that I'll review soon.

Lakme 9 to 5 range is especially designed and developed for working women who need a subtle and natural looking makeup that would give them a very sophisticated look. Mostly Nude and English shades blushes and lipsticks. I bought this blush because it was a peachy pink shade that was appropriately pigmented. Since I like natural makeup so this blush is a very sheer and it contains sheer so it it gives a very nice glow to the cheeks.

The packaging is quite sturdy. The blush comes in a pressed powder form. The texture of the blush is very silky. It is very smooth and it blends very easily on the skin.you a very light amount and it gives a hint of peach and pink shade to the cheek. But, blushes are quite a tricky part, if not done correctly, you might end up looking a joke.

The shade is called Peach Affair because it is in peach but is also has a dark pinkish hue. In the case it looks more like pink and when applied it looks like pink and peach. It also contains very fine shimmers that give a very luminous glow. And they also highlight the cheekbones so you don't need to highlight them separately.

Pro
Very smooth
Very fine shimmer
Comes with a brush
Long staying

Cons
Brush is good but quite small
Priced more than its competitors when the quality is the same.

Price
INR 450

I like it, this is the only powder blush I have so I can't compare it with anything performance wise. But it is quite good and can be recommended. It would look really good during weddings and similar occasions.

That's all.
Take care :)

Current Favorites: May

This is a first of its kind post on my blog. I have seen these kind of posts in other blogs so I thought to give it a chance too.
Firstly, I'm not new to makeup, knowledge wise, I have seen tons of videos and tutorials to instruct and explain various techniques but I have zero experience in doing it. Somehow I haven't had the courage (and by that I mean I'm too poor to buy all the stuff :p ) to do it on myself.
But recently, I bought a few things for my Graduation farewell party because I had absolutely nothing to call a makeup-kit. So I bought the basics and I had some things received in monthly subscription boxes that I never used.
When I did use these, I fell in love with them (literally). And I wonder, why didn't I do this earlier! Girls my age are pouting away their lipsticks at events where I'm happy with Baby Lips :D
So following are the things that I really like and would recommend to everyone who is a beginner at makeup.

1. Lakme 9 to 5 Flawless Makeup Foundation (Marble)

I bought this in absolute hurry and because it fits in my budget. It gives a matte finish and a very natural look. Suits my oily skin.

2. Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Foundation (Cinnamon)

I received this in my Fabbag (I can't remember the month but it was almost a year back). It's a mineral foundation so it's good for skin and free from any harmful chemicals.  Very sheer and again, it gives a very natural finish.

3. Lakme 9 to 5 Pure Rouge Blusher (Peach Affair)

This is a very lightweight and sheer blush. It's a dark pink shade with a hint of peach. It isn't very highly pigmented that means you can use it if you want a very sheer look. You'll have to use a lot of product and layer it for a heavy look. It contains very fine shimmer.
As I prefer a more natural look so this is good for me.

4. Maybelline Colossal Kajal
Every Indian girl knows about this product. This is THE most basic makeup that instantly changes the look. I like the Maybelline one out of all the others because it has a lot of value for its price and it stands by its claims.

5. Vega Blush Brush
This is my first makeup brush. I asked the lady behind the counter for a powder brush to go along with mineral foundation but she handed me this instead and I didn't pay attention then. When I returned home and I saw this, I felt like going back and returning it to her face but I had already used it out of utter excitement. :D
Inexpensive brushes are very difficult to find in the market but shockingly, this brush works well with cream foundation, powder and of course, blush.
So it's very valuable for its price! And also the first one that I own. So that makes it special.

That's all for my current favourites!
Do tell me your favorites in the comments.
Take care :)

Review: Deborah Milano Il Rossetto Lipstick Shade 808

Deborah Milano is a new brand for me. I received this lipstick in my Fabbag (can't remember which month, but it was very long back). I don't wear lipsticks (yet :D), I don't like it for some reason. I wear a tinted lip balm instead.

Deborah Milano has various ranges, some expensive and some inexpensive. Il Rossetto is one such inexpensive range that offers 14 different shades from pinks to browns and even purple shades. The one I am reviewing today is in light purple shade, 808.

Product Description:
Soft creamy lipstick enriched with Vitamin A, C and E. Leaves the lips dazzling shiny and perfectly moisturized. With UVA and UVB filters. Hypoallergenic*
*Formulated to minimize the risk of allergies.

Price: INR 395

My experience with Deborah Milano Il Rossetto Lipstick Shade 808:
The lipstick comes in a red plastic packaging with IL ROSSETTO written on the cap and the shade written on s sticker at the bottom. The color of the sticker is the same as the shade of the lipstick.
According to me, the packaging is not very attractive, it is rather a bit cheap as compared to the other ranges, but that’s what you get at this price.

The packaging may have been compromised but the quality has not. The texture of the lipstick is quite creamy. Not very creamy but its application on the lips is smooth. It feels very moisturized and makes lips appear soft and smooth. It is very well pigmented and it works in one swipe or at most two swipes are required to finish the look. It stays for 3 hours on an average.

The shade is light purple, not the lightest purple but a light purple shade. It’s not something that you can wear regularly. It's an occasional wear. But it leaves stains wherever touched. It also bleeds after sometime. If you drink water or something else, you’ll find the lipstick marks on the glass and on every other ‘thing’ touched by it. So forget about eating, drinking and talking much after applying it, because this poor fellow won’t be able to survive it.

It can be layered in order to achieve a certain shade. And in order to increase the staying power, you can layer it and then cover it with a veil of face powder. This would increase the staying power and this is a tip by the Deborah Milano Experts.

Pros:
·        Inexpensive
·        Highly pigmented
·        Smooth texture
·        Moisturizes lips

Cons:
·        low on packaging
·        leaves stains wherever touched
·        color bleeds

Will I buy again?
No, I would invest in something else next time.

Conclusion:
This lipstick comes from a nice brand and the quality is very nice. Its staying power is OK, texture wise it is smooth and glides easily on the lips. But, it bleeds after sometime and also it won’t survive any meal or drinks. It leaves behind stains. So overall, it is a nice lipstick but not something in which I would like to invest for a long time.
