A Selenator by HEART!

I am a BIG Selena Gomez fan. I first saw her on the Disney Channel show 'Wizards of Waverly Place' and have loved her ever since. Her songs, her style, her hair, smile, her movies, everything is so fresh and casual in a chic way. So, I am proud of calling myself a Selenator! YAY! She is also one of the very few child-stars who are still going strong and have not taken their fame for granted. I would not name the one's who did, but you might guess it right.

Well, in this article, I have compiled a lot of pictures of Selena that show how she has transitioned from a cute little baby to a beautiful lady that she is.

Also, Selena's audition tape for Wizards of Waverly Place:

Now, the pictures. She has always looked beautiful and you can recognize her even as a baby because her features and face hasn't changed much.

Oriflame Very Me Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow Review

Hello everybody! The wedding season is so on, I have been attending weddings almost every other day. So I thought that I can now review a product that I use whenever I am getting ready for a wedding/party. The product is: 'Oriflame Very Me Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow'. It’s a tinted moisturizer. I always see my Mamma getting ready and she uses the foundation so perfectly. I have a habit of copying her, so even I used foundation, just to see what it does. But I didn’t get it right. To me, applying a foundation perfectly is an art and no one can do that in the first time. You need to practice it. But by the time I could prepare myself for it, Mamma bought this lovely moisturizer for me, and I just can’t thank her enough.
Now, moving on to the product.

Product Description:
The website says:
Bring out the best in your complexion. Tinted gel moisturizer with a lightweight finish gives you a peachy, natural glow. It can be worn alone or with your favorite foundation.
Price:
INR 329 for 30 ml (according to the website, I have no idea about the price at which mamma bought it, she got an introductory discount)

Ingredients:

My Experience:
I totally love this! I have an oily to combination skin. My skin is sensitive, so using just any product on my face is not an option, I breakout the very next day. So when I got this moisturizer, I was a bit skeptic, would it work for my skin? Will it make my face look dry? Will it look natural or made-up?

Well, this worked perfectly for my skin. It comes in two shades: Light and Dark. I own the Light shade.  It blends in very easily. It looks very natural, and wearing only this also works perfectly. It contains glitter or shimmer, so when you are out in lights, people can see that your face is shining because of the shimmering particles on your face. I use it by mixing in another moisturizer, to make its shade lighter.
It is very moisturizing tough. I’ll attach a picture in which I have used it. I have been using it for a year now. A pea-sized amount is more than enough when used with other moisturizer for face and neck area.
It does not provide complete coverage. It does not make you look flawless. So if you want maximum coverage then maybe you can use a concealer beneath it. It only moisturizes your face, gives a fresh look and makes you glow instantly. It stays on more a long time. When I applied it, I looked fresh even during bidai, which equals to almost 9 hours, from shaadi to bidai. So you don’t have to worry that it would run of. But I don’t know whether it’s water-proof or not. Well it should be because it is a gel moisturizer, but I am not sure.

Pros:

·     Blends easily
·     Fresh looking face

·     Shimmers (it’s a pro during wedding and other informal occasions)
·     Nice packaging
·     Mildly fragrant
·     Stays for long time
·     Doesn’t dry after a few hours
Cons:
·     Maybe expensive for few
·     Shimmers (it’s a con for formal occasions)

Shimmers are both a pro and a con according to me.
Will I buy it again?
Yes! I do not use a lot of make-up. I am still new to this. So this is everything I have every occasion.
Do I recommend this?
Yes yes yes!! Anybody from oil to combination and dry skin can use it. But not very dry skin. Normal skin ladies can use it too!
I hope this review helped you. I love this lovely and I am sure you’ll love it too.
Please tell me more about similar products. I am a newbie and I don’t even know how to use a foundation!

Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Face Wash Review

Hello! I am here with yet another review. This time; no stories, no drama, I am coming straight to the review. Because I am literally writing this in the middle of the night and I have my exam day after tomorrow. Who studies ‘Industrial Management’ anyways! :D So, while I was just soothing my eyes with all the brand new products at a shop, I found this ocean-in-a-bottle kind of blue face wash. I bought it because I liked the ’blue’ which is for normal skin beauties, i.e. my sister. There is a ‘green’ one for ladies with oily too. Gosh! I ended up starting with a story.

Now, review.

Price: 99 INR for 75 ml

Product Description and Application method:

Ingredients:

The list of ingredients is kind of long. What set me off is that it’s not just long, it has a lot of chemicals.

My experience with Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Face Wash:

This face wash comes in an inverted transparent tube with a flip-top cap. The product is transparent or very light blue in color. It’s the color of the packaging that makes it look so bluish. On the inside, it contains lots of air bubbles; it may be representing ‘refreshing’ or the ‘hydra IQ’ tech.

The face wash is in gel form and the consistency is a little runny. My sister has a normal skin that is not oily and not dry. She has absolutely no worries when it comes to skin, unlike me and I envy that.

In this case it is not actually my experience that I am narrating, but it’s my sister’s. She loves Nivea products, especially The Total Face Clean Up and she was very excited to try this one as well. She has used it for quite some time now and she likes it. The face wash cleans the face and makes skin ‘baby’ soft, this maybe because it contains Vitamin E. According to her, a face wash should lather enough to show that it has done what it is supposed to do. But this one does not lather much. It has a mild fragrance to it that feels nice on the skin and stays for some time, which is good.

Pros of Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Face Wash:

·         Cleanses skin effectively

·         Makes skin very soft

·         Skin feels refreshing

·         Budget friendly price

·         Travel friendly packaging

·         Leaves a mild fragrance

Cons of Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Face Wash:

·         Does not lather much

·         A bit runny consistency

Do I recommend Nivea Aqua Effect Refreshing Face Wash?

I would recommend it to ladies with normal skin. It is not a miracle face wash with wonder-effects, but it does not disappoint. It is worth a try.

Conclusion:

In a nutshell, I would say that this face wash for normal skin cleanses the face and makes it feel refreshing. The Vitamin E makes skin super soft and gives a glow. It is a decent face wash that my sister loves.

But, even for people with same skin type, a product might render different results for different people. If it suits you, maybe it won’t suit your friend. It all depends on what your skin accepts the best. And that depends on your skin care. A healthy skin is the best skin, nurture it, pamper it and it will bring unlimited compliments for you.

Thank you. Stay beautiful!

The Girl with the Camera

I was introduced to the world of cameras when I was around 13 years old. And I was fascinated by it. I used to wonder, how can something that we see be printed on a sheet of paper with all the same colours with just a click!

It's the same as knowing that a whole other world exists inside the television and we can see it through the glass window. Until one day, an electrician opened it up and to my shock, there was no miniature world inside it.

My dad bought a point and shoot camera by Sony for some official purpose. This was different and much better than the one's that had a film role inside them. It had an LCD screen and zoom etc, it was quite a task to take pictures but when I understood the process, I was made the official photographer. I had to carry the camera and take pictures on all family events in order to capture those precious memories. After sometime, people started recognizing me as 'The Girl with the Camera!'.

I started enjoying it. Taking pictures from different angles, and the fact that a picture can tell a lot of stories. I started experimenting with the pictures and now I was clicking pictures by choice and not because people asked me to. I took pictures all the time, with or without an event. At home, while I am out visiting some place, with friends, literally all the time.

But then, what happened was depressing.
My father's friend borrowed the camera for some work and lost it! Can you believe it? He borrowed and LOST it. I was in deep shock but what could have been done. After that, when I used to go out in parties and family functions, I felt like I had nothing else to do there other than clicking pictures. And I missed it so much that my heart broke everytime.

Not having a camera was a major drawback in my father's field work. He had to take pictures of the work in progress in the fields and without that he had a lot of reports pending. So then he thought of bringing in a better camera that could be used for both official and personal purposes. He asked for my suggestions and according to the budget, I chose the Nikon Coolpix S4000 point and shoot camera. I have used it a lot and I love it to bits :)

I love this camera very much and it brings out the best quality pictures. My journey as a photographer has just begun. I am learning and exploring new things about photography everyday. It has become my passion and I would love to make it something better and bigger than just a hobby.

Thank you for reading. This is just something about me, a small part of my life and dream.

P.S. It is not a review of the camera.

Take care :)

Tvam Scrub and Body Polisher (Apricot and Walnut)

Hello ladies! Without much ado, today I would jump directly over the review. I am very busy with my sister’s college admission and college road trips, I am actually writing this review on the run (not literally). And there I go again talking about life etc. so! Now back to the review. I am reviewing a scrub-cum-body polisher from Tvam which contains apricots and walnuts as its main scrubbing agents. I received it in my April Fabbag! And that’s the reason I am so excited to review it, couldn’t wait.

Product Description:

Apricot and walnut Scrub is a face scrub and body polisher with walnut shell grains. Almond oil and Ayurvedic extracts enhances skin tone and smoothness. Removes black heads, unclogs pores, and deeply cleanses the skin. Softens skin by retaining moisture, rejuvenates the skin and reduces skin discoloration.

Ingredients:

All ingredients are natural except the preservatives.

Usage Instructions:

Wet skin, gently massage for a minute. Wash off.

My Experience:

As I said earlier, I received this scrub in my Fabbag, my first Fabbag, long back in April. I got a 30ml sample. It is available in the market in 100ml packaging. Firstly, my experience with Fabbag as been awesome!

Now coming to the product, it comes in a glass jar with a lack lid. The scrub has a creamy consistency and the walnut and apricot shell grains, as mentioned in the product description, are clearly visible in the scrub. The paste in the scrub is creamy and smooth. The grains in the scrub are not too coarse and not soft. It does not hurt while scrubbing and effectively smoothes skin. The cream in the scrub is very moisturizing and hydrating and you can feel that even after washing it off.

I like the fresh feeling after you scrub away the dead skin. It’s like you are pampering yourself and its thanking you for it.

What I don’t like about this product is its smell. It is an Ayurvedic product but it does not smell like it. When you open something that says ‘Ayurvedic’ on it, the first thing that you do (or I do) is to smell it. It smells herbal and all rusty and you are assured that it has no chemicals.

BUT! This product smells like a perfume. I don’t like its strong smell. But I like that it stays and lingers for some time.

Pros:
  • Hydrates skin
  • Scrubs off dead skin effectively
  • Mild fragrance felt on skin
  • Not too coarse scrub
  • Leaves skin soft and smooth

Cons:
  • The fragrance seems artificial
  • Expensive!

Price:

The online price is INR 988 for 100ml. It’s too much for me to spend a thousand rupees on a scrub!
But I loved the sample.

Will I buy it again?

I received a sample. I loved it. Since it is mostly available online, I would definitely buy it if available (on discount).
Hope this helped.

I Love… Strawberries and Milkshake Shimmer and Shine Lip Gloss Review

I am back with this delicious review. The product that I am going to review today is so yummy, that you would want to have it on you all the time. Hey! Confused? I am reviewing a cosmetic product, nothing edible. Ha-ha.

This product comes from I Love… Cosmetics. Firstly, those who are unaware of this brand, let me do the honors of introducing it to you. I Love… is a British brand that manufactures the yummiest, to-die-for fruity fragrances. The names of the products reflect the main ingredient of the product or the inspiration behind the product. You can check it out here.
Now, this lip gloss, as the name suggests, is related to strawberries, hence PINK!
Lip glosses aren't really my thing and I haven't tried many. But this is different.

Product description:

The product does not say much, apart from-
“Sooth me on your lips”

Ingredients:

Paraffinum Liquidum, polubutene, cera alba, ozokerite, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, proplyparaben, tocopheryl acetate, aroma (flavor), benzyl benzoate, mica
This are all that are mentioned on the product.

My take on the product:

A lot about the product is in its name, strawberries, milkshake, shimmer, shine and love, because I love it.
It is light pinkish in color, not very pigmented. Actually, I think it is not pigmented at all. You won’t see any color when you apply it. It is not at all sticky, like other lip glosses, so on those windy days your hair won’t be stuck on your lips (yuck!).
It has a lot of shimmer and shine. It gives a very hydrating feel on the lips. Your lips will feel more moisturized and hydrating after applying this lip gloss. it makes lips soft instantly by applying a very little amount.
It smells delicious! It feels like strawberries and milkshake on your lips. You would eat it most of the time. It gives you the most kissable lips.
It seems like a lip gloss but works as a lip balm! It stays for around 3 hours and even after that it does not make your lips chapped. As if it seeped inside the lips, YES, it is that hydrating.

Pros:

·        Smells delicious
·        Hydrates like a lip balm
·        Non-sticky
·        Tastes yummy :P
·        Stays for about 3 hours
·        Does not chap lips afterwards

Cons:

·        very low pigmentation
·        slightly overpriced

Price:

INR 550 for 15ml

Will I buy it again?

Yes! I will definitely buy it.

This was all about this gloss.
Hope this helped!
