The Girl with the Camera

I was introduced to the world of cameras when I was around 13 years old. And I was fascinated by it. I used to wonder, how can something that we see be printed on a sheet of paper with all the same colours with just a click!

It's the same as knowing that a whole other world exists inside the television and we can see it through the glass window. Until one day, an electrician opened it up and to my shock, there was no miniature world inside it.

My dad bought a point and shoot camera by Sony for some official purpose. This was different and much better than the one's that had a film role inside them. It had an LCD screen and zoom etc, it was quite a task to take pictures but when I understood the process, I was made the official photographer. I had to carry the camera and take pictures on all family events in order to capture those precious memories. After sometime, people started recognizing me as 'The Girl with the Camera!'.

I started enjoying it. Taking pictures from different angles, and the fact that a picture can tell a lot of stories. I started experimenting with the pictures and now I was clicking pictures by choice and not because people asked me to. I took pictures all the time, with or without an event. At home, while I am out visiting some place, with friends, literally all the time.

But then, what happened was depressing.
My father's friend borrowed the camera for some work and lost it! Can you believe it? He borrowed and LOST it. I was in deep shock but what could have been done. After that, when I used to go out in parties and family functions, I felt like I had nothing else to do there other than clicking pictures. And I missed it so much that my heart broke everytime.

Not having a camera was a major drawback in my father's field work. He had to take pictures of the work in progress in the fields and without that he had a lot of reports pending. So then he thought of bringing in a better camera that could be used for both official and personal purposes. He asked for my suggestions and according to the budget, I chose the Nikon Coolpix S4000 point and shoot camera. I have used it a lot and I love it to bits :)

I love this camera very much and it brings out the best quality pictures. My journey as a photographer has just begun. I am learning and exploring new things about photography everyday. It has become my passion and I would love to make it something better and bigger than just a hobby.

Thank you for reading. This is just something about me, a small part of my life and dream.

P.S. It is not a review of the camera.

Take care :)
